Their second would come just before HT. Half time 1-2

The second half saw Ballymacash score 2 more to but the boys kept battling and a pen from Shea and goal from Aaron set up a tense finish, but the equaliser would not come. Full time 3-4

Northend United 4 Larne Youth 0   Saturday 28th September 2024

After last weeks performance against Barn, the boys had a point to prove and came out the blocks and went straight at Larne with Niko causing havoc on the left side. The long balls were causing issues to the back four of Shea, Aodhán, Wiktor and Shay but once they adjusted it wasn’t long before the chances would come at the other end. Point blank saves by the impressive Larne keeper from Shay B and Pauric would keep the score sheet blank, but it wasn’t long before good work by Shane on the right would result in a smart finish to take the lead. The midfield of Aaron, Odhran, Shane and Niko were supplying the balls to Pauric up top. The second came after good work from Niko on the left as he squared the ball to the on rushing Aaron to finish. Half time 2-0

The second half continued with the boys creating chances only to be denied by the Larne keeper. It took a long range effort from Odhran to kill the game off. The fourth came from good work from Matthew and Shea on the right to cross for Pauric to tap in. Full time 4-0

Panel: Alex Crawford, Matthew Leetch, Aaron Doherty, Wiktor Wronski, Shay Butler, Shea McConnell, Shane McAuley, Niko Byczek, Aodhán McGarry, Jack Patterson, Pauric Redmond and Odhran Duffin

Northend United 1 Barn United 7  Saturday 21st September 2024

After last week’s impressive performance against Islandmagee ,the boys came out the blocks and went straight at Barn with Niko causing havoc on the left side. It wasn’t long before good work by Shane on the right would result in a smart finish to take the lead. The back four of Jack, Aodhán, Wiktor and Shay were being marshalled well by Alex in nets, but found themselves under pressure from the hardworking Barn side. The midfield of Shea, Pauric, Shane and Niko were supplying the balls to Odhran and Andrejz up top. Like last week, the pressure from Barn would pay off with 3 quick goals that would see the side behind at half time. Half time 1-3

The second half continued as the first with mistakes that lead to more goals to Barn and even the introduction of Kian, Ross and Aaron on his debut wouldn’t change things allowing Barn to win the game comfortably.

Northend United 5 Islandmagee 3 Friday 13th September 2024

Friday night football under lights at Jordanstown served up a footballing treat. After last week’s defeat the boys got paired up against Islandmagee who had an impressive performance and result the previous week. The boys came out the blocks and within 45 seconds found themselves one up after a cross from Shea was parred into the net by the Islandmagee goalie. The back four of Luca, Aodhán, Wiktor and Shay were being marshalled well by Alex in nets, but Northend found themselves under pressure from the hardworking Islandmagee side. The midfield three of Shea, Pauric and Jack were supplying the balls to the wingers of Niko and Shane who were causing havoc and chances for Andrejz up top. The pressure from Islandmagee would pay off with 3 quick goals that would see the side behind at half time. Half time 1-3

Changes at half time would see Odhran with his first start for the club causing problems and now with the introduction of Kian it wasn’t long before the scoreline would change. Goals from Kian (2), a superb freekick from Pauric and a 5th from Shea would turn the game on its head. Jude also was introduced to strengthen the midfield and see the game out. A superb second half performance, with special mention to Wiktor at the heart of defence.  Full time 5-3

Panel: Alex Crawford, Andrejz Smolinski, Luca Laverty, Wiktor Wronski, Shay Butler, Shea McConnell, Shane McAuley, Niko Byczek, Aodhán McGarry, Jack Patterson, Pauric Redmond, Kian McGarel, Jude Storrie, Odhran Duffin

Northend United 2 Newhill 3   Saturday 7th September 2024

On a scorching hot morning, the U17s started their league campaign against a good footballing side in Newhill. Both teams tried to play football from the outset with chances falling more so to Northend however Newhill always remained a threat. In a close-knit game, Niko crossed for Shane McAuley who headed home from the back post. Further chances fell to the Blues with their keeper saving at close range on 3 occasions. Newhill equalised direct from a corner when their captain cleverly tried to score direct only for Aodhan to smash in to net at the front post when trying to clear. This put our heads down and although most of the play the final pass eluded us. Half time 1-1

We started the 2nd half bright and pressure paid off when Shane played an excellent ball over the defence for Pauric Redmond to smash home. From then on in it looked like plain sailing however the water break knocked us off our rhythm and in the last 10 minutes Newhill scored 2 similar goals following lapses in concentration. We pushed hard at the end and nearly found an equaliser from 2 corners however it wasn’t to be. The match was played in the right way and the referee had a good game also. Good luck to Newhill for the rest of the season Full time 2-3

Panel: Alex Crawford, Wiktor Wronski, Shay Butler, Danny Hector, Pauric Redmond, Shea McConnell, Shane McAuley, Niko Byczek, Jack Patterson, Aodhán McGarry, Ross Bamber, Andrezej Smolinski
